Just An Idea From A Friendly Creative Writing Mod... Storage!?

It seems that the majority of budding writers (Me included) have previously stated their habit of spending time writing portions of work up, then either deleting them or saving them somewhere and forgetting about them...

Now, I've taken a shine to the forum, and quite a lot of the work that people have written up here, so I have a flimsy idea floating around my head that I wouldn't mind getting some opinions on...

Basically, considering the amount of poems / short stories / portions of upcoming books and other some such things are being posted here, how would you like it if we came up with some form of storage for the work (Asides from the forum itself seeing as posts do dissapear in time) and have the ability to "SUBMIT" said work to it so that it gets tagged with the nick of the writer and can then be selected and read over freely by other readers. Like I said, this is a simple flimsy idea thats been rolling around my scalp, and wouldn't really have much of an idea as to how it'd work (Or what to use) but if you think it'd be a worth while addition to the creative writing forum, then post up your thoughts.

I think I know what you're talking about Rope, sounds like an excellent idea to me.

Would help keep everything together, might even serve as a handy portfolio if you want to show someone your work, but haven't got a laptop or carry round sheafs of notes everwhere .

Thats pretty much the idea - Something like a database where you can scan through the list of people who have contributed to it and (If they want) allow viewers to click into their profile and take a gander at their work. Something along those lines...

I just feel that, with the handy amount of work being posted up, it'd be good to have some form of method of storing them for future reference.

What I'd give to get some of my old work back...

I guess a Journal format wouldn't be too bad at all - Infact it's probably the only way that it could be facilitated on Boards (In a sensible, tidy manner that is)

I guess that the only real way to get it, though, would be to get enough people to 'request' it from the admins... We'd need a bit more interest however...

...and at a rate like this I'm not too sure it'd succeed...

I've sent a PM to DeV about it and will hopefully get his opinion on the matter.
If for some reason or flaw in nature we actually get some form of 'facility' for our projects, I'll be urging you all to collect you're work from the forum and get it 'stored' for testing reasons, although I'm rather doubtful.

We need a little more support, people.
