    hey nice avatar!

anyway. why do you want to show interest in a company and yet not pretend to show interest. whats that about? theres no point in being blasé about it, because they will just think you are not interested and are wasting their time.
what is the poisiton you are going for?

you have the interenet, research the company. read their web site. find out all you can about the position you are going for and where it fits in with the company.

Give straight to the point precise answers to any questions they ask with a
    small bit of information...
If you start rambling on and going off in tangents it wont look good and might
appear that you are trying to cover up something

Dont lie about something as this could come back to bite you big time.
If you lie about experience or anything like that, an interviewer might start asking
questions about this and catch you out.

Make plenty of direct eye contact with the person asking the question, dont stare
just make sure you make enuff eye contact to come across as a confident person
    without being too cocky...

Try and bring some humour into the interview, as in make a very subtle light hearted
joke based on some past experience.. this will relax you and help things move more
    smoothly..

But suss this one out first before you attempt it, if it appears that the interviewer
is not one for humour or is in bad form, this may not work too well

    Dont be afraid to smile.
Dont slouch in the chair. Sit upright
    Dont swear
Doint figit with your hands or tie or anything.
Dont cross your arms, gives off a defensive appearance in body language..
Make sure your appearance is appropriate, it may be telesales but you should
still make the effort to look good, tie straight, top shirt button closed, shirt properly
    ironed and shoes polished..
    Hair neat and tidy
Dont over do it on the aftershave or deodorant
When shaking hands, make sure its a strong and confident handshake as this
gives off an air of confidence..

Oh and good luck with it.. :)

I think he means that he wants to appear genuinely interested in the company and not seem as if he's just showing interest for the sake of getting a job.

It also looks good if you ask questions. Most interviewers will invite questions at the end, don't just sit there staring into space, have some questions ready, it shows that you are interested. I have been on both sides of the table and it is a great way to end an interview by having intelligent questions ready.

I guess just ask about the job specifics - what type of information do you need to take over the phone - credit card bookings? Do you need to follow up the reservation or is that another department's job? Once you have a reservation query is it your job to be the specific agent for the customer or can all telesales agents pick up where you left off? Do they need you to do overtime if necessary? Do they need you to be trained in other experiences for the future?

Try to understand the actual job that you will be doing and if you don't understand anything don't be afraid to ask them a question to make you understand it.

Good luck, I hate interviews too, my last one I had to do a photoshop test of all things but I seemed to pass it as I have the job now.

Basically, don't worry about it, try and relax and enjoy the conversation because it's not the end of the world if you don't get the job. Just be you*

I'd second the comment about asking the interviewer questions .. whether it's about your division in the company, the company as whole, or specifics on your job duties. It might help a bit if you can prepare a couple before hand and bring them on a pad with you, just in case you can't remember them by the end of the interview. Also, (imho) having a pad and pencil lets you jot down notes every now and then and helps you seem interested in the position :)
