Find out what you are allergic to - its amazing!

Not sure where this should go so I put it here...

Ok, my aunt showed me this and i was absolutely amazed. Put out your left hand straight across in the air (not by your side). Close your fist in the other hand and ask someone to put slight pressure on your right hand. You should be able to keep it up.

Put a sample of food in the closed fist such as cheese, onion tomatoe etc, all you need is the touch of the food. If you are allergic to that food when someone puts pressure on your other hand you will not be able to keep it up.

I WAS AMAZED. I found out i am allergic to all dairy products. I put a slice of cheese in my closed fist and I could not keep my other hand up with someone put pressure on it. Then i dropped the slice of cheese and straight away i was able to withstand the pressure on my other hand.

    Try it out!

Also we found out then that if the person putting pressure on your hand is allergic to the food you are holding in your fist they will not be able to put your outstrechted hand down.

IM TELLING YOU TRY IT OUT!! BLOODY AMAZING

Are you? I mean, surely you have experimented with this kind of stuff before now?even if it was only a few crumbs of cheese behind the bike shed at school.

would you not have realised by now that you're allergic to dairy?

You should have checked to see if the cheese was kept anywhere near your aunts medical leeches

People think they're allergic to everything these days.

You will not die from eating peanuts just because you're hand fell when your granny touched it with a peanut.

Utter pants. If you're allergic to something, you'll know about it.

But the food is in your right hand, which isn't outstreched. Your left hand is outstreched, your right hand is in a fist with food inside it.

    Clarify please

Your 'other hand' is also your right hand....

I do think what Sci0x has said is utter pants but then a lot of people don't know their allergies at all. Still I just shovel it all in and hope for the best.

You found out that you couldn't keep your left hand up while your right hand held a piece of cheese. How can you draw conclusions about allergies from that? Perhaps it means you were a cheese in a former life. Or that you will meet a cheese in the future that will bring you fame and fortune :D

We got so much food we're allergic to it....you don't see starving people in africa crying about being lactose intollerant.....

Hmm. I appear to be allergic to hypo-allergenic medication. This does not bode well...

I had one of these tests done when i was younger. Went through a whole list of foods using the method you described and gave me a list of what im allergic to. Was quite strange really.

To clarify, what sci0x refers to as allergic should in fact be called "slightly intolerant towards" - an allergy should never be confused with an intolerance. Many people for example are dairy intolerant but won't become sick from drinking milk or eating cheese etc...the signs of intolerance can often be quiet subtle and go unnoticed for many years.

However the hand trick is complete boll0x.

This also proves to be a useful method of dumping your unwanted girlfriend(s). If one takes the view that a breast is technically a "sample of food", I think dumping a girl for clear health reasons, after obtaining a positive result, be it an allergy or mere intolerance, makes the whole job a lot easier. "It could have been beautiful Baby but you give me a nasty rash" sure sounds better than "you ruined my life you fu<king bit ch!"

Did any of ye who commented actually try this out. I'm not entirely sure if its to do with alergies or that kinda thing, but just try it with a few foods and see. You could be surprised.

Just to clarify, you hold the sample of food in your right hand in your fist. You outstretch the left hand straight across and let someone put slight pressure on your left hand (try to force it down in the direction of the ground). You will not be able to keep it up for certain foods when they put pressure on it.

I was as incredelous as ye before i tried it. Just try it.

I think your aunt is similar to my aunt who comes up with similarly eccentric quirky little things each week she visits on a tuesday morning.

personally, i do this this method is kinda funny lol ;)

I do believe tho that diff people have diff foods they are better off avoiding, for instance, i love tomatos but they used to give me terrible heartburn, after a process of elimation lasting about two weeks, i found out it was tomatos that were causing it, now that iv cut them out, no heartburn, and we are talking the kind of pain that would have me doubled up and munching on rennie!
