card adopted by another box

I have Sky World card which was paired with a Grundig box. My family were using it in our other box,a Pace on a twin LNB. The Pace adopted it after one night left in and now the Grundig box says its the wrong card.
We did ring Sky after trying new installations, reboot etc. They said they would send the signal to remarry the card to the Grundig. This did not work, neither has leaving the card in the Grundig for two weeks.
Why not just swap the boxes location I hear you ask ?

The reason for this post is I'm about to upgrade to Sky+.

I'm wondering is it the card or the box which is faulty?

Is there a limit to the number of times a card can be paired with different boxes?

The card seems to work perfectly in the Pace but will it upgrade to Sky+ since it has not remarried to its original box ?

    Has anyone any ideas ?

    this is a strange one.
did you give sky any box serial number or version number when you rang them ?

Yes I gave them the serial number, card number and version number.

I should add that before all this happened that when we put our P2 FTV card into the Grundig box it often missed channels 101-4 off the EPG. Could it be a faulty card reader ?

it sounds like it to me,if you are still in your first year of contract get them to replace the box, as an aside
when I got my card switched back on after forgetting to pay my bill, all channels came on EXCEPT 101-104 I had to ring sky again to get them to resend the signal.

its well outside the contract, I've already got a Skyplus box to repace it but I'm just concerned it might be the card rather than the box which is faulty
