Another puter game made into a movie! any one seen it yet, and what did ya think. Sounds like AW`s kinda film, Zombies and all.

Plot Outline: A group of teens arrive on an island for a rave--only to discover the island has been taken over by zombies. The group takes refuge in a house where they try to survive the night

reading some of the user comments here are real funny...
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0317676/
One guy runs it into the ground and then says he will still buy it on DVD when it comes out!

Might be one for the fan boys!

I've seen nothing but terrible reviews for this. It's not even based on the game as such, it's a rave on a island. It shifts into videogame mode a couple of times, just so you remember its roots.
    I think I'll pass......:D

I saw this in the states a few months ago (knowing nothing other than it was based on the game).

    Its bad.

But its so bad its good (in a very cheezy b-movie kinda way).

The acting is terrible, the script is pretty bad, the story is weak.

Its set on a remote island where teenage kids are going to have some kind of party. One of the kids gets infected (can't remember how), and one by one they all get turned into zombies. The survivors get to a house, and blah blah blah etc.

For those who know the games (and the back story), this is a prequel to HOTD 1 (although you don't actually know that until the last scene, where people who know the game will realise that
the main character, Rudy, is in fact Rudolph Curien, the protagonist from HOTD1 - this is 'supposed' to explain why he goes to great lengths to create zombies later in his life).

Ah well.... I enjoyed it - gory, (unintentionally) funny, and very cheezy. Oh, and watch out for the gratuitous Sega advertisement at the party. :)

    - Dave.

    I've heard it's utterly dire!

But I'd probably go see it just for the laugh.

So House of the Dead is out on Region 1 DVD January 27th. Personally I'm quite looking forward to seeing if it's REALLY that bad...the reviews on amazon are a very mixed bag, mostly 1 stars but a few 2 or 3 star reviews...but as with everything there's a few 5 star reviews too, so it IS possible to enjoy it :D

I finally got to see this and yeah, its so bad, i mean real bad, so bad in fact that I thought it could be a classic cult film in 20 years. It felt like it was 20 years old ( Apart from the modern special effects ) like one of those lame 80`s horror flicks with bad acting. But I liked those bad 80`s horror films and as a result i liked this crap film. Hmmm Sounds like im contradicting myself but there ya go, im a bit strange when it comes to bad films!
