Anyone manage to get a ticket? Bet they're worth a mint...

I'm pissed I didn't get one, i'd say it'll be a great night. Say what you will about pop music, Timberlake puts on quite a show.

Seriously? Throw a few details at us, i've been curious as to what he'd actually do in Vicar St.

Well first off he was about 45 minutes late, not appearing on stage until 12.45am, but there was support in the guise of wes darcy & a rapper just starting out called Little Chi or something similiar.

The band were incredible - funk/jazz/pop/soul fusion Absolutly incredible sound out of them. I can't remember how many songs he did but they seemed to be freestyling them all, with loads of solos in every one & extended versions etc (Rock Your body was at least 15 minutes long/Senorita/Like I Love You & Cry Me A River all lasted equally as long) I'm lovin it was about 20 minutes long (band introductions near the end). He also played guitar & piano on a couple of tracks.

There were no dancers, or fancy effects (not sure what the point was like), but there were four backing singers & a full band. He was dressed in jeans & a Tshirt & it was more of a GIG than a show. He really seemed to be enjoying it, rather than putting on a performance.

Have to agree with threadkiller on this. I was dragged in by the g/f expecting a pop show and came out after enjoying one of the gigs of the year. The guy is a seriously talented musician. Judging by the show I think he'd love to do more serious gigs in the future and get away from the whole overblown pop world. Top notch stuff, great band too, the drummer was amazing.

It was amazing!! He was in great form, voice was fantastic and the band were great too. I've never heard so much roaring from a crowd. If you were anywhere near the front you'll remember the 'handbags at dawn' type confrontations between numerous twentysomething women vying for eyeshot views...it was SCARY! I'd have to say though, probably gets my gig of the year. Hurrah!

Yeah, the Point show was the same as the one from last May. Which is an excellent show (his band are amazing, the drummer is an animal) but i've seen it... I was looking forward to the smaller one. His tour bus passed me at the Weston at about 11:30 on it's way up to Vicar St. Anyway, thanks for the details.
