Does anyone know the name of an artist ... fairly predominant ... *I read about him for art history in the leaving cert, but can't remember his name..* ....
he used to be an accountant .. had a family ... the whole show.. then dropped everything when he was about 40 to go and study with the greats... I can't even remember what time period he was alive during....

I think he did a painting of a train station.

    But definitly was an accountant.

Em, Paul Gaughin was a stockbroker until he ditched the wife and kids to become a painter. Then he moved to Haiti or some place and sleazed his way though the indigenous female stock.

If by greats you mean he hung out with Van Gogh, Pisarro, Seurat, Renoir and all those heads, then maybe this is the dude you're thinking of.

Taihiti, yeah. One of those islands. What's your point? Ecstacy, calm and art could mean a return to a purer, primitivist weltenschauung or it could mean shaggin all the busty locals. Or both. What's your point?
