Football match on TV

Imagine that all 5 channels - RTE, TV3, BBC, ITV and Sky Sports - are showing the same match at the same time. Which channel would you watch it on?

For me, it'd have to be BBC. I love the old school commentary of John Motson or Barry Davies, it's what I grew up with.

I was brought up with the BBC football coverage as well, so it's gotta be them for the quality of the commentary (as long as they leave Trevor Brooking at home). Sky Sports coverage is pretty impressive, all that lets them down is that their commentary can be a bit over-the-top sometimes. Of course, if it was a match involving England I would have to watch it on RTE :D

    BBC for me also.

Sky are good as long as its Tyler and Gray. I cant stand the muppets like Marwood, Smith and Shearer they get to commentate. And most of Jacks army that they get to work on Irish and Nationwide games are so boring. Quinn, Houghton, Stapleton, McAteer, Whelan.......

    Chris Kamara is hilarious though.

Definitly the BBC for me anyday & thankfully Match of the Day will be returning to it next season. :)

    Sky Sports for me

commentary can be annoying at times but it is the amount of time that they give to pre match and post match that i love

BBC- John Motson bores me to tears
ITV- everything about them drives me mad
RTÉ- not the worst except for that Bill O Herlihy, the commentary annoys me at times too
TV3- same as ITV, the only thing i like about them is that they tend to show a different CL game to what ITV is showing

Yup, would be the BBC for me also, closely followed by Sky Sports. I generally don't like TV3 or ITV coverage. RTE are just OK.
