Would you say that any new Irish channels will be launching soon?

The BCI are going to give licences for Sat and Cable.

TV3 want a Music channel for Dublin. Thus Music Cubed program on late night on TV3.

And There is a news channel on the web. Ireland Television News or Something.

Edit: Also Digital TV from RTE, TV3 and TG4 at some stage along the lines of Freeview in britian. If it ever happens.

With all the TV license increases, RTE should be able to afford a new channel. its going up €6 soon and thats higher than inflation which is strange as they agreed to up IN line with inflation which should have meant a €2.50 increase.

guess inflation just is not high enough for them.

    TV license increases

They are not going to get it that quickly. I don't think the government will be happy to let the increase come in so quickly. Dermot Ahearn is not to happy, he will be the last person to increase it.

RTE want a News channel and an information channel for digi.
