A quick question. Does anyone think the using FTV cards in Ireland is illegal? What would the legal stance be?

The terms and conditions on the letter that come with the card mention the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland, so legally I think it is OK.

If I read my EU law correctly, as long as the appropirate fee for the cards has been paid (£23.50) then no, it is not illegal. It is not a pirate card. The same way that if you purchase a card for Canal Satellite France legitimately and view it in Ireland it is perfectly legal to view it in Ireland, even if the terms of the contract don't allow this.
