Best titles for PSOne?

Got a PS-One and looking for some good games for it! Just finished Silent Hill and was brilliant!! Can anyone suggest what the best titles for PSOne are?

What's "Metal Gear Solid" like?

Metal Gear Solid is definitely one of the highlights of the psone
any of the Resident Evil games are brilliant, dino crisis 1+2, Medievil, Driver

Gran Tourismo I and II both rawk.
Toca Touring Cars is also good.
Worms Armageddon is good for multi-player fun.
LMA Manager Series is also addictive

Music 2000! I've wasted days upon days playing this one, granted it's nowhere as good as Music 2003 on the PS2, but the interface is easier and you can make some funky tunes right-away

would be gran turismo for me or resident evil, scared the ****e outta me and must have finished it a dozen times to get all the secrets, jebus nearly forgot FFVII

Personally I would reccomend the two Tenchu games very highly plus what have been mentioned above. Also ISS 2 as well.

Remember playing Resident Evil years ago, class game! Silent Hill would be there with it, but better. Silent Hill doesnt have that 5 second delay everytime you went through a door like Resident!!

Whats FFVII btw?

driver was class. the tension when passing a cop car that they hadnt spotted you speeding and the chase to try and shake em excellent stuff.

Final Fantasy VII one word excellence.

silent hill was good too ****ed with your mind although the lack of ammo at some stages resulted in more running than fighting and bludgeoning zombie babies with your metal crowbar rather than filling em full of lead a la resi a different game altogether.

ah parappa. i remember you got it on a demo disc didnt actually buy the full game too young and poor, but i must have spent days trying to get my **** down. goooood stufffffffff...

dont waste your money on new copies, you will pick up the vast majority of those games in any game or gamesworld store for a fraction of the price in the second hand bin. they're desperate to offload the old stocks of ps1 games these days so your sure to find them dirt cheap.

Shame on all fo you for not mentioning it, but you really, really should pick up Vagrant story on the ps1. It was a criminally underrated classic, one of the best stories on ps2, and that includes FFVII's. (tho FFVII is stil lthe best game of all time)

I think the best fighting game on ps one was soul blade , still worth buying as good as tekken on the ps2 ,its very realistic fast it pushes the ps1 processor to the limit as regards graphics special effects sound .with good single player and 2 player modes.you ll get it for 25euro if u can find it in game or electronics boutique.

i can't believe nobody's mentioned simpsons wrestling:eek:
by far the best use of the simpsons license. you'd have to be mad to miss out on this gem.

that was bitter irony by the way, i wouldn't be able to live with myself if i found out you'd ordered simpsons wrestling:D

destruction derby raw is a good laugh, the multiplayer modes are rather lacking though (skyscraper is good fun for 5 drunken minutes...)

as previously mentioned: metal gear solid & resident evil trilogy...
gran turismo 2 is good, i wasted soooo much time on that one

the purists seem to hate street fighter alpha 3, i found it immensly entertaining (not to mention,. thumb blistering) for a few weeks...

Check out smackdown 2, if you have a multitap, 4 pads and 3 mates. a few beers and a royal rumble is some of the best craic to be had on the old ps1. Also the syphon Filter series for some good auld shooting action.

Simpsons wrestling is the gaming equivalent of a mouldy genital infection after you have heard all the jokes.

My favourite game on the PSOne was Suikoden 2. However it's very rare and expensive.

Metal Gear Solid < brilliant

Wipeout 2097 and wip3out,

Soul Blade is still one of my favourite fighting games.

The resident evil series RE2 in particular.

FF VII, and FF VIII.

Driver rocked back in the day, but compared to GTA3 and Vice city its very dated now.

GTA and GTA2 were also great ways to pass hours away while on the dole.
