The lord of the rings - return of the king (with bonus DVD) is €20.95 at cdwow.ie and €18.46 at the cdwow Uk site (prices are in £) .. its €24.15 at play.com ...
[edit]thanks to the lads below for pointing out www2.cd-wow.com.hk ..which works grand and that lotr -rotk with dvd is €15.38[/edit]

    On an off-topic note:
In the "Coming Soon" section of play.com is - Ron Jeremy/ Various - Bang-A-Long-With Ron Jeremy (PA) :D:D:D I kid you not .... If you dont get it do a search for Ron Jeremy, but not at work or where the kids can see the computer

it's still there, you just have to be a little craftier to get to it.
They seem to have increased their prices from HK$99 per CD to HK$105.99 per CD though.

    http://www2.cd-wow.com.hk

Think they just put up the prices to take advantage of the christmas rush...

    They're still slightly cheaper though.

    Price check:
    .ie cd: €13.95
    .uk cd: €12.76
    .hk cd: €11.17

God bless 'em, they know to charge the Irish the most *sniff* :p

That'll be the VAT difference, the other side of that though is that you're paying VAT to the British Gov. instead of the Irish. Though I doubt many would worry about that.

they have some funny redirects IMHO
www.cdwow.com.hk leads to the uk site but cd-wow.com.hk to the normal HK site (which works fine and has all the latests prices)
don't use only www2.cd-wow.com.uk as I have learned that some of their webservers go down occasionally - that's the reason you are sometimes on different www2-7 servers

thank god for a retailer like them, only if they would expand their dvd selection and carry more boxsets :)

Didn't think they paid VAT .. read that as one of the arguments in the IMRA case. Also the sums don't add up...

    .ie: 13.95 / 1.21 = 11.53
    .uk: 12.76 / 1.175 = 10.86

    .cg

You just have to be crafty. I had the same problem a few days ago. use the hyphen in cd-wow and I used www1.cd-wow.com.hk

If we were paying VAT to the British government, then you would think the prices would be the same, right?

Why would we be paying Irish VAT rates to the British government? Surely if the VAT was going to the British government we would be paying the British rate, making the cds the same price

in hong kong there is no such thing as vat. this means that cd wow send out the cds with a customs declaration on them. an post and royal mail should be collecting the vat, but the sum is too insignificant for them to give a dam.

Without the hyphen it always forwarded to the UK site. Annoyed me for a bit a few months ago until I remembered to put the hyphen in the first time I tried rather than going through the "****ity ****, idiot, hyphen, idiot" routine every time.
