NTL Broadband speed problem

    Initially it was officially 512K and I was getting 700k download at nightime.

    Offiicial speed went up to 600k but now i am only getting 430k at the best of the times.

    Have I got a legitimate complaint?

    And has anyone got any news if NTl Ireland will offer higher speeds like 1mb or 2mb?

    they are ment to be offering a 1mb connection in january for the same price as eircom are offering their 512k connection (54EUR) but im not 100% sure on that. as for your speed, im not sure. where are you testing this? what are you downloading and what are you using to download? im on NTL cable with an imac and linux workstation and im getting full wack (84kbytes/s most times) under linux, but not sure what im getting under mac. running mac os 9 ATM, but planning osx. actually, with ie 5.1 on the mac, i download @ between 40 - 50kbytes/s. thats one connection at a time, the linux box opens 4. im running though a router, firewall and proxy.
