Vinnie Mac is the man... Anyone think this is his swan song? and that he'll actually hand the business over to Shane @ Wrestlemania??
I just thought it was an interesting theory..... And for the Record The Macho Man sucks... OHHHHHHHH YEAAAHHHHHH!!!.....

In fairness to Savage, it's not that he sucks, he's just passed it.

Savage gave us some class matches in the late 80s and early 90s.
Wrestlemania III against Steamboat is sheer brilliance and light years ahead of its time.

    Wrestlemania IV for the tournament.

Wrestlemania V for his match against Hogan, and lets face it. He fscking carried it!

Wrestlemania VII against the Warrior. We knew he was gonna retire (or so we thought) but he still gave it 100% and Silver Vision had the gall to CLIP the match for the tape!

Wrestlemania VIII against Flair, it completely stole the show and proved at the time that Bret wasn't quite a god just yet.

Unfortunately after Summerslam 92, he went rapidly downhill as the match between himself and Crush at Wrestlemania X showed.

One thing ya gotta remember folks, and Foley points this out in his first book. In the mid 80's, they didn't have bouncy rings! So it's not surprising that a lot of guys back then needed hip replacements! ;)

No, I think I'll stick with my first statement, savage sucked balls
Though I wish character now-a-days were as charismatic or maybe creative... I'm sick of them using their real names Mark Jindrak, Nathan Jones etc.
The Good wrestlers had to earn to use thier names
The Hitman possibly an excepion though he did have to use The Hitman
Shawn Micheals- The HeartBreak kid etc.

I prefer wrestlers using their real names. Personally I think Kevin Nash and Scott Hall sounded a lot better than Diesel and Rrrrraaazor Rrrrrraaamoon!

Or what if Triple H would still be called Terra Rizing? :p
Dunno how Bret got the nickname "Hitman", he's had it since 86! Probably earned it from hitting on Sunny so many times in the late 90s! ;)

As for HBK... Howabout the Crybaby kid or Hypocondriac Kid? Or better still, don't return the job kid?

No disrespect to Wompa1, but I wonder if you actually saw matches of Savage when he was at his best? Because my opinion of Savage at his best? Well...

Put a 1988 Savage against a 1997 Michaels in the ring and you'd be in for a hell of an entertaining match. :)

If the whole thing is going to be an old folks reunion then I don't want to see it, there just trying to recapture the glory days as there not as big as they used to be since the split, if there were a few of them there then it would be good to see them but if they go digging up every old fossel then its just going to suck balls.

I prefer Gimmicks anyway and I know Savage was great but I said Savage Sucks balls not sucked....he's past it like Hogan they can have the odd gimmick match or on screen character but they suck!
Razor Ramon was on of my favourite Gimmicks!
    Diesels gimmick blew
    What about The Undertaker!
    Stone Cold Steve Austin
    The Rock
    Chris Jericho
When you know its their real name you find it lacks mystique...I prefer when they have a character.

Kanes real name is Glenn Jacobs not Kane. And his Kane character was brillant for about a year when he was indestructible...having said that where in the hell is Paul Bearer?

Anyway...I stick by my original statement

And by your standard the majority of wrestling fans are tards... because the big wrestling booms happened with the introduction first of Hulk Hogan...a character, not his real name
and Stone Cold Steve Austin again a character and not his real name
ECW was good because they believed in charatcers and gimmicks but they had an aggressive attitude ambodied in them
Sabu, Rob Van Dam, New Jack etc.

I don't think it necessarily has to be their real name. Anybody with a proper sounding name is good - Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, etc. If they have a regular everyday character that isn't a big indestructible fruitcake monster, it works a lot better in the believability factor.

    Okaaaaay *cracks knuckles*

    1) Allow me to quote
" No, I think I'll stick with my first statement, savage sucked balls",

    2) Razor Ramon was a good gimmick for it's time, but when he jumped to WCW, he was much better (and a damn sight more credable) as his real name, Scott Hall.

    3) What about the Undertaker? You could give him his real name now and he'd still be a slow, no selling piece of selfish **** who stinks up the ring at every given opportunity. Name ONE good match he's had in the last two years. Please... I insist!

    4) As for the rest, they're characters. Simple as that. It's not not like they dress up as plumbers, garbagemen or clowns.... oh wait.. Jericho did that once or twice.

And if you really wanna be pedantic, Austin and Jericho use half their real names, Austin being Steve Williams and Jericho being Christopher Irvine. ;)

You forgot to mention Big Daddy Dentist! The fake Diesel, as well as Unabomb!!
Oh and remember the sh|tty voice box they made him use.....

I thought that was a good match, probably one of the last good matches Jeff had. Hardy carried it though.

That Hell in the Cell with Taker and Lesnar was complete dirt, if you're referring to No Mercy 2002. Given the fact that the finals of the Tag Team tournament match was on before it, this attempt at a main event blew by comparison.

The sad thing was they stuck those two in the same main event a year later (bike chain on a pole match?!) and it still sucked!

Mark Calloway should have retired in 1999 when the ministry dispanded. Cos there's been no use for him since.
