I was shocked to realise a new episode of friends was on Network 2 on monday night! I seen no adverts for it! What a dissapointment! Although, I only missed 4-7 mins of it, so at least I got the BIG twist at the end!

have to say i thought it was a fairly good episode, cept for monica and chandler, they are annoying, ross is by far the funniest at the moment

Absolutely spot on. I always thought the Ross character doesn't get the credit he deserves, he's hilarious, he has by far the funniest idiosyncrasies of all the characters.

i was unimpressed, think the franchise is well past its prime, it really could have ended ages ago, i think chandler lost his spark after he got married, he just wasnt as pathetic or funny any more.

It wasnt very funny at all. I thought the last series was quite good and a sort of return to form, but that episode last night shows why this is the last season.

I thought last series sucked BAD, although I have to agree that Ross is probably the only funny person left on the show.

Everyone else has just become parodies of their former selves.

Chandler and Monica are boring, and Joey and Rachel doesn't make much sense. It's like the writers are pulling this stuff out of their asses. If you look at old shows you'll see that they're witty and entertainingly funny. Nowadays you'll be lucky to get even a little chuckle out of the new episodes(unless you have no brain and laugh at retarded stuff...).

Don't know how anyone couldn't know it was on - ads all over N2.

Anyway, didn't think it was good at all. I thought I'm meant to laugh at comedies, no? Friends seems so ... unsophisticated? ... in its humour. Maybe it's just creaking at its seams and the wrinkles on the friends are too obvious. I've started with it so I'll finish but, gods, I can tell you I'm not looking forward to the Joey spin-off.

Speaking of the franchise being past its prime....

Once Friends is over, Matt Le Blanc will be starring in a spin off, named, wait for it... Joey!!! This was on yahoo news a few weeks back. That said I think that could be funny, IF done correctly!

i dont think friends was ever very witty, and certainly never sophisticated. it was often quite funny, but i never thought it was witty. and fraiser is sophisticated (and i hate it), not friends.
i think joey can be quite good, sometimes hilarious, however i fail to see how a spin off will work. Joey is only really funny in the context and because you dont have to sit through his stupidity constantly, i imagine a spin-off of his would just be prat-fall after prat-fall, stupid comment after stupid comment and i think will be short lived.

I reckon they should keep Chandler in the new Joey series as well, make it into the new Odd couple.

I reckon though, Joey may well be good. I've seen some flashes of brilliance from Matt le Blanc over the years, so if they get a decent writer it could work.

    Are comedies sophisticated?

Falty Towers was it ever sophisticated, was Father Ted??????

People are so up themselfs with sophistication, TV is obcest with getting the "sophisticated" viewer. And then they show Bo Seleta, The Osbournes, BB etc.

It was nice to see a new episode of the series, I thought the last series was an improvement on the previous series, but I didnt get to see much of it.

Enjoyed the new episode, in the last series.

Is "joey" not just a rumour?
