cos the idea of online gaming hasnt reached a backwoods nowheresville like Cork yet, I dare say.

Why dont you ring some of the cybercafes there (if there is any) and ask them??

I remember testing some new net cafe in cork about 3 months ago. I can't remember the name of it but BugBlaster knows all the detalis about it. From what I can remember about it, you can book it for LAN games or whatever you want to book a large room with 20 or so PC's for.

there is a cyber cafe offering lan games -
the downside is they charge £11 for 2 hours lan gaming.
They have about 7 or 8 pcs.
trouble is I can't remember the name of the place - didn't go back after being charged that much.
It's called the web workhouse or somesuch.
It's near Scuzi's off Patrick street.

Fair eneogh, I can see that some of the rich Landlords in Cork might be able to import a computer over the mountains from "back esat" but do they have electricity to POWER these computers?

Sod all ye *******s! I'll have ye know Cork is known as the silicon valley of Europe! Dublin may have all the s/w but we have the h/w.
Actually the whole country is a backward ****hole. Why I'm emigrating.
No, I'm not in UCC playing Q2, I'm in CIT playing Unreal Tournament.
If there is a cyber cafe offering LAN games in cork, who the hell is promoting it! I was in town all day every day last october and didn't hear a peep!

Its <rap the way Q2 gets deleted in UCC everytime someone official sees it.Someone was telling me ye have to go to crazy lengths to hide it.

I think you'll find Leixlip is the silicon valley of Ireland for 2 reasons.

    1. We have big Intel and HP plants.

    2. We have a valley, its quite nice really.

-2040 We get the same thing at CIT with Unreal Tournament, but they lock our accounts for two weeks as well.

It's ridiculous really. You get technicians sneaking around the labs at night trying to catch people playing.

that's kindof crap. bit fascist of them.
they're much more easy going in UCC.
we never actually had any trouble with Quake or Halflife in UCC. We were using the fourth year lab and a lab we admin'd as well as a dedicated solaris server for storing the games.
    aaah. the nostalgia.
course now I'm in work and I'd never do anything like that.
