Is there anyway of editing ripped DVD's in Adobe Premier?

In my limited experience of ripping DVD's to DivX, the AVI file you get isn't recognised. Is their a codec I need to download or somthing ?

You need to convert the VOB files that you ripped from the DVD, to an AVI.

    use this program:

[mod edit]NO WAREZ PLEASE THANKS OK [/mod edit]

It's fully cracked. Download it quick, cuz I can't leave it there for too long.
    LMK.

You will need to "de-interlace" the footage afterwards. Just re-render in premiere, and tick the "deinterlace" box in "export movie" options.

Careful on the de-interlacing advice. It lessens the quality, and the majority of DVDs out there aren't interlaced (but a lot are). So make sure before you use it.

Virtualdub or VirtualDubmod (even better) is your best bet for editing AVIs (http://virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net or http://www.virtualdub.org).
