    Maybe you're sleeping too much.
Maybe you're not getting enough exercise.

Get at least 8 hrs of uninterupted sleep, preferably don't go over the 10hr mark or you might start to feel groggy getting up. Also on sleep, try and sleep in regular patterns, i.e. go to bed around 11pm and get up at 8/9am. Eat lots of fruit, banannas are great for energy and drink lots of water.

I'd sugget getting lots of exercise so when you do sleep you sleep sounder and you'll wake up feeling more refreshed. Diet is probably contributing towards your lack of energy as well. Try eating different foods.

Try a good tonic (e.g. Pharmaton).

I find that this always gives me a temporary lift for a week or so - useful if your malaise is a temporary thing in its own right.

Wouldn't recommend taking the tonic for more than a few weeks - in the first place I always find that it seems to have less effect the longer you take it and in the second place if your unexplained tiredness lasts that long you should go see your GP.

PS And another thing young man - Are you sure you're not pregnant? :D

I don't know how old you are but I recently had a full check up with my GP and I have had those symptoms for quite a while too.

My blood tests came back with hypothyroid problems which affect the metabolism. I now have to take something called althroxin every day ... indefinitely :)

I was told I'd get a surge in energy and though I haven't felt any 'surge' I do feel a lot less tired now, about six weeks after starting on it.

    Just an idea ..

i go the gym once a week every week so i get enough excercise. i also get roughly 8 hours sleep a night, but recently my dog has been barking during the night so my sleep is broken. i should probably vary my diet, and ill eat more bananas. cheers for the advice.

P.S no im not pregnant lol.

friend of mine has a dog too that barks in the night and wakes her up, so she's awake every now and again to let the bugger out, in the morning she's completely wrecked, cuz the dog does this quite often :p. She should really take my advice and leave the little s.o.b outside. :)

    Macseamusa,

Chills suggestion of seeing a quack ( if boring ) is good

Smiaras & BoB_BoT this thing about lots of water may be fine but just check out

    http://www.diabetes.org/info/diabetesinfo.jsp

and consider if any of the other symptoms apply to your good selves ( lets hope not )

Also be aware that drinking a lot of water can lower the sodium level in the blood. In extreme situations this is a very bad thing and may be fatal

There are many well documented cases of this ranging from 'E' takers to marathon runners. May seem strange but both activities can lead to the same problem and it is because both can end up drinking a fatal amount of water ( yah, yah I know that seems strange but I'm fraid it true )

a lot of people that suffer from low energy that I know drink lots of energy drinks i.e. "red bull, shark, and whatever caffine concentrated crap in a can". Drinking lots of water flushes out the system (well that's what works for me), but you do have a good point about if the person could possably be diabetic.

oh Macseamusa, don't eat too many banannas, too much of anything is bad for you (kinda a bit ironic even though i said drink lots of water, in fact drink moderate amounts of water :) ) Out of interest, do you drink may softdrinks, much coffee + tea with sugar?
I know you said that even if you get a couple of days sleep you still feel tired, perhaps you should get a check up just to be sure. to be honest i never thought about a medical cause.
Some people find that if they change something in their diet they seem to loose some energy, I did for a while when I gave up soft drinks, [oh how I miss the suggary drinks lol (must resist) hehe.] but soon went back to normal when I readapted :)

Not putting a downer on things.... but if it doesn't improve, go to your gp, ask him to take a blood sugar reading..... takes seconds. Low energy can be a sign of Diabeties (Spelling) Is there a history in your family.

You could try taking up something like Tai Chi, which increases your energy levels.

But a broken nights sleep will alsways leave you knackered - the next time your dog barks at night chastise him - he will soon get the message.
