    Hi,

Can anyone recommend a professional photographer to take erotic/alternative (not porn!) photos? It's for a surprise Xmas present for my OH rather than for publication....

    North or central Dublin preferably.

    Thanks.

    JJ.

    58 views and no replies?

Can you expand a little on what you want to do, post some links or photos. Surely someone in this forum would do this job !

    Hi.

I've received one pm so far.

I'm looking for b&w "arty" type photos of myself for my partner for Christmas - specifically me smoking (his fetish) in heavy gothic type make-up and leather/PVC wear. Nothing pornographic - more erotic in a S & M style. I would prefer a studio setting or a plain backdrop (or perhaps a dungeon!!).

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

    JJ

    Can you tell us........

    What age are u?

What you can contribute for costs? As you say the photos are not for publication, usually no photoghrapher will be interested unless you are contributing towards costs. Do you expect to receive the negatives etc?

What size prints do you expect etc?

    Are outdoor locations a possibility?

BTW: Standard advice for any model is not to attend a photo session alone. Bring a friend that wont interfere with the shoot and be sure to let some people know where you are.

I'm 40 (and a quarter!). Why do you ask?

I've no problem with paying the going rate for the photo's and yes, I would want the negatives. I didn't want to start ringing photographers in the Golden Pages at random because a. it's difficult to talk in an open plan office and b. I didn't want to shock a unsuspecting "wedding and kids" photographer.

Thanks for the tip about taking someone along with me - a good idea.

    JJ.

Age matters quite a bit, especially for under 16

I'd advise doing digital rather than film as this would give you the freedom of having colour/sepia/B&W prints.

If the photographer is reputable your images would go no further than his portfolio.

I'd recommend both you and the photographer have someone with you to ensure no impropriety.

I'd offer to do it myself (got a professional Digital SLR kit) apart from:

    1) I don't have a studio.
    2) Finding the time this side of christmas would be tough.
    3) It'd be hard to convince my wife to let me :)

Thanks anyway - you'd be quite safe!

I guess it could be done at my home but don't want the typical "readers wifes" type photos.

    Have sent you a PM.
They wouldn't be that type, you can be amazed at the lighting and setting you have at home.

A Studio or other setting would be better, it could result in some very erotic photos. A good photographer would make the background "dissapear" anyway. You don't want a photo of a table, you want one of you...

Depth of field could make that work, however depending on the setting in a house that could work too... for instance bare wooden floorboards, light coming through an (out of focus) window, a ruffeled bed with clean white sheets, & you sitting at the end of it staring directly into the lens (or just off). That would be a good pic.

Outdoors would work just as well. If the day is calm enough, the smoke would linger. but you have the problem of passers-by.

I don't think outdoor would be a good idea, too cold for a start! I would prefer a studio setting but I guess both the timing (note to self - start Christmas shopping earlier next year!) and the cost would be against me.

The image ownership would be an issue for me.

I really doubt any fashion photographer would turn this down, you dont have to say upfront what you want to do exactly.

If you like go to http://www.irishphotonews.com and do a search under "Fashion" "Glamour" and "Nudes" for your area.

Its a great idea, good luck!

Might want to ask the staff in Ms.Fantasias (sp). The shop carries a lot of PVC/Fetish/S&M-wear and I'm sure they'd probably know of a couple of reputable photographers?

JJ, this photog looks to be in the ballpark.

Looking at his fine art, he is not your average ""wedding and kids" photographer" as you put it !

A good friend, an early Xmas present of a digital camera (thanks, Dad!) and many giggling bouts later we had over 300 shots ranging from the "vanilla" to the explicit. Managed to edit them down to 80 odd, put 'Sweet Dreams' by the Eurythmics as the soundtrack on Quick Time and put the whole lot on a CD (thankfully my friend has not only got a steady hand but a reasonable grasp of IT!). The reaction from my OH? He absolutely loved it!!!! Only problem is that he want's a sequel.....!
