    Perhaps you could pick up a wife from the area first, thre seems to be plenty about that on Google and then you can hear about the property situation first hand. Might save you a packet in the long run.

    There is bloody cheap property over there on the beach and the mountains for Winter or Summer holidays

    Best bet is to approach the Irish Embassy in Bulgaria (yes there is one, and good time to do it as they are a candidate country for the EU and the Irish Presidency of the EU is next year!).

    The Department of Foreign Affairs will have the relevant contact details.
