    Obviously snooker related !

My highest break was that of 43, was a good decent run. Can't seem to break the 30 barrier anymore though :/

    Slaan.

I was about to get a 147 once, unfortantly I missed a black of the spot and the break broke down at 8, twas a fine effort though. "Davey Devil 32" is the highest I've heard from the ref.

My highest is 48 afaik. I rarely get anything over 35-40 though now, I've got seriously out of practice lately. :(

never was any good at snooker. all the balls and pockets are too small for my little brain to cope with, and it's a long way to the other end of the table.

that said, for some reason i always seem to score better after a few pints.

i did manage to pot the black on a break in a game of pool once. we we're sure if it was an instant win, or an instant lose, although it was kinda cool at the time (pi$$ed again though!)

My best is 32 but it should have been much higher cos the reds were spread SO SWEEET at the time but alas I got too cocky and missed a sitter.

Im not really a break player in anyway I prefer to go on the small runs of 10 odd and then knock it up onto the cushion nice and safe most of the time you can manage to force an error or be left on (thats my tactic out in the open for the tounrey so)

I wonder how many people are telling fibs above?? :D

The conflict between bragging about how good you are versus giving away how good you are! I see most have gone with the - I used to be very good, but I'm out of practice now - but one or two have just plunged in with the outright lie!!

Personally, I'm very average. Many moons ago I got about a 30 break on a 7x4 table, but I'd have never potted more than 4 balls in a row on a 12x6.

In 8-ball pool I once potted a ball on the break and proceeded to pot all my balls, including a very flukey treble on my last ball, only to miss a very gettable black.

93 when I was 15 and missed a pink off the spot to the middle bucket with a red hanging. I'm fairly useless now as I've not practised for years with the odd game here and there. Eyesight's going too so I only really play pool now.

I got 3 8-balls in a row once on my way to winning the Kevin St. DIT annual pool competition.

    _raptor_,

All through secondary school I was playing non-stop so had loads of breaks around that mark (I studied too about 3 hours a night so I wasn't a bum). I played Ken Doherty twice and a few other lads that made a small impact in the UK but they where knocking in centuries at that age.

You would be suprised how many people can get breaks like that in your average snooker hall.

43 also... A few days after your 43 as I recall "Slaan".

Last 2 reds with blacks and all the colours. Could possibly have racked up a few more but there were no balls left  I can feel a 50-60 comin on soon tho!!

Gas cooker and a few creamies later man?

Nowadys its different as you only need about €100 to join the circuit in England so all the decent players have already left. When I was 15 there was a set-up like the golf where you had to enter pro/am tournements and get enough points to be invited over to UK.

A mate of mine had a century at 15 and he never even came close to playing pro.

The standard has dropped considerably in Dublin too. Guys who were playing leagues in the 8th division when I was younger are now playing 1st division as anyone half-decent is in UK.

Which hall do you play in??

    43. R&B, R&B and then cleared the colours. That was very much a once off though. Usually I'm happy when I pot a colour after a red ;) I'm fairly decent at pool though!

    33. I've only been playing about 6 weeks, and it was pretty much a fluke, but i've since got a 6-ball break of 19.

I haven't played in a good while but usually around Clondalkin / Tallaght / Lucan.

I played leagues for a couple of years so have played most halls. Can you get bevvy in your hall?
