Anyone heard of this Euphony crowd ?

On the surface it looks like real savings, but I've no experiende of an alternative phone carrier...

    Talk3000

This superb money-saving service was launched in response to demand for even more free calls! As its name suggests, Talk3000 gives you 1500 minutes of national and another 1500 minutes of local calls, absolutely FREE, every month. That’s a staggering 50 hours of free talk time, for a monthly service fee of just €5.00 per month!

With this brilliant new service, every single rate - anytime, anywhere in the world - is cheaper than Eircom*, plus you get 3000 minutes of call time FREE!

In addition to 3,000 free call minutes every month, you can phone family and friends for less, thanks to another special bonus. Call another Euphony customer within the Republic of Ireland and receive an additional 25% discount on the call. You don’t even have to nominate numbers. All your friends can enjoy lower phone bills when they join the service on your recommendation and you’ll enjoy 25% off when you phone them. Phone an overseas Euphony Customer and you’ll receive a further 12.5% on top of your existing greatly discounted international calls. You’ll soon be checking your phone bill to make sure that everyone you know is a Euphony customer!

Connect to our money-saving Talk3000 service and you’ll also enjoy access to Euphony’s other preferential rates, such as international and daytime, and a low minimum call charge - just €0.06 (inc. VAT). And remember, that’s only when the call isn’t free!

You will receive a free, fully-itemised monthly bill and you can choose between direct debit, automated credit card or cheque payment.

    Your connection checklist.

You keep your existing Eircom telephone number and services (i.e. Your line remains an Eircom line and you continue to pay line rental charges)Only €5 per month
You are billed per second, so you only pay for the time you use
First 10 minutes of local and national calls FREE! (Off peak only)
You will save an extra 25% on all calls to other Euphony customers in Ireland and a 12.5% discount when calling another Euphony customer overseas - tell your friends, relatives or anyone else you talk to and you’ll all enjoy the savings!
We will send you a fully-itemised bill every month (at no additional cost)
    No pre-dial codes.
Cancel at any time. Risk free!
Now, sit back and enjoy the savings - not only do you save on your calls in Ireland, but you also save up to 75% on International calls too!

Ah that's the same crowd that has a banner advert here on boards.

They probably work the same way as EsatBT or UTV where you sign a contract, etc and your calls are automatically charged by your new operator (excluding line rental). I remember back in the day, when Esat gave you a dialler box which plugged into your line - useless kit. Or else you had to dial a code

Euphony are a pyramid sales operation but they do charge what they say they will.

Expect a load of stuff about getting discounts if you pimp the service to all your neighbours.......

I've used them for over a year now and they are very cheap if used properly :)

They've saved me a fortune to be honest.

But you would have to be religous with your use of their ten minute free local and national calls, ie 9 minutes 59 seconds and hang up.
You can ring back and talk for another 9 minutes free if you want , and do this as often as you like depending on what package you use etc.

    It works anyhow :)

I never knew it was a pyramid type operation in the way that they promote it though .

Their call structure is very biased, while certain calls will be cheaper than say eircom, other will be much more expensive (based on the last time i saw their tariff).
