Getting Sky in Germany

    Hi, Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get Sky in Germany if I were to buy a Sky box from eBay, basically if I have a box and dish already? I would love to be able to get the Irish channels. Any tips?

    Get someone ie friend,relative to ring $ky for a contract. You need family Pack or higher.
    When the card arrives they need to post it to you.
    If you are all set up ie box (Panasonic is best) and dish ready and tuned on the right satellite Astra 28.2.
    Put card in box.
    Then go to Services,4 System Setup,5 System Setup, then you are on System details then email exactly all the details on that page to a pal in Eire to make the call or you can call using a mobile ID switched off.
    If the box is your own you do not need to be connected to the phone.
    Ring $ky (I don't know the number!!!) and tell them to switch you on. If they say do it via the digibox just say you have no phone,if they ask a question you do not know the answer to say you are at work.You can always hang up and try again, $ky call centre is like life friendly and unfriendly people.

    I would have to agree with panasonic been the best make of box, ive had mine for 7 years and no problems (touch wood) that was my English box which I brought back to Ireland. since I took out an Irish installation ive had my PACE box replaced 3 times.

    Muppetry - Sky digital began 5 years ago. October 1998. How can you have had the box for 7 years? Did you get it off media bullet? :rolleyes:
