Sky Sports 2 Aspect Ratios

    A week ago I posted a thread about Sky Sports 2 aspect ratios being all wrong while they are showing widescreen programmmes. I today discovered that if you tune in Sky Sports 2 Ireland manually you still get the same problems. However if you tune in the UK SS2 they problem is rectified there. You'll have to go through Other Channels but it beats everyone on it looking like a matchstick. Tune to 12.266H.

    what is it that you are seeing?

    a 16:9 picture instead of 4:3? :confused:

    During the Newcastle game, it was 16:9 stretched at the top and bottom to view 4:3, so you had the appearance of a L.S. Lowry painting.

    A bit cheesed, but I went into Sky Sports active and watched the game on SS2 for the UK.

    Thats exactly how it looked but in my case It's been going on for a week.

    some days i seem to have sky sports ireland then the next its back to sky sports uk and back again?

    It put it simply, either Sky Sports 1 or 2 show Irish ads while there is live football on.

    The same ratio problem for Sky Sports 2 Ireland is being broadcast for the FA Cup tonight. Match is in 16:9 proper on the UK version of SS2 at 12.266H

    I rang Sky about the ratio prtoblem the guy on the phone said that thay would put it on the list with trhings that needed to be fixed.

    If you go into the A to Z listings then sport and for example press red for football and you get a listing for a football program on sky sports 1 or 2 you all ways get two skysports channels showing up one for 65535 Sky Sports 1 thew second one is 401 sky Sports 1. every time two channel listings the exact same time show up except for the number infront of one of the Sky Sports.

    I can't believe $ky have not got this fixed. I rang them on Sunday and spoke to some girl who tried telling that my TV most have a fault.

    Picture ratios are still wrong for the Rangers game tonight on SS2 Ireland.
