Heh, yeah - most people here are total nerds, whereas I'm not, and I'm totally sound, etc...

They have loads of conventions as well like saying things like "I'm a ninja" and "amp test" and "atari jaguar" and something about a cake that's made out of kittens.

But don't mind any of that. It's all just nerd stuff.

Oh yeah, they like these things called "gathering cards" too.

I think there probably are a large amount of students who post here regularly alright. Personally, I reckon if they're going to be wasters they might as well be getting pissed in the bar instead of sitting in their computer labs all day, nerding on boards.
It's hard to say exactly how the "population" of boards.ie breaks down. I don't know if there's ever been a thread with a poll on it.
At a guess though, I would reckon that more than half are in third-level, maybe a quarter in school and the other quarter wasting time at work.

Welcome to the boards. Don't take everything seriously. Do think twice (and read twice) before posting something. Read the charters on each board.

Get to know the"Ignore" feature. Instead of picking fights with people stick em on ignore and you won't have to put up with them.

Oh and don't listen to ColinM. Also, if you happen to be a girl, don't listen to Typedef.

click on "user cp" at the top of the screen (below the banner)
then go into "change options"

the option to turn it off lies therein.

with regards to the inbox no its not full, however for example with this thread when i last checked my email there was two notifications about replies i thought we where meant to just get one.
