Broadband 'Studio' in Henry St.

Just letting you know that the old eircom Shop in Henry St has now become a 3G (slogan: wired. wireless. whatever. ugh!) Broadband studio. It looks like another mobile phone den, but upstairs, if you can stand the seizure inducing flashing lights, they have two rows of dells and about six imacs, in soundproof booths. I went in when they were still putting the xbox live games on the shelf, and they didn't quite know what to do with a visitor, so one of the girls kept hovering around me, asking me if I needed any help.

The usual lack of training though as, when I asked her about the downloading speed varying with the site I was looking at (which you'd expect anyway, but I was just asking her to see what she'd say), she said that it wasn't varying because broadband give you a guaranteed download speed. When I pointed to the speed varying on the screen she was a bit crestfallen.

However, it seems they'll let you go in for half an hour at a time and play about with the broadband connected machines.

    Here's the Press Release
