internet doesn't work

not sure whats causing this problem. The dial up connection at home has stopped working. It dials up to the server fine and connects ok at about 45 kbps. However, no programs (IE, outlook) recognise the connection and act like the pc is not connected to the internet. Anyone have any ideas? The problems kind of started when…

The problems kind of started when we switched over to Eircom flat rate but it doesn't seem to be a connection issue.

Try pinging hosts or nslookup from the cmd line, tell us what happens.
