    Hi all,
Did anyone see a programme on how the media covered the JFK assination(spelling), it was on RTE 2 on Saturday night before JFK. I thought it was a real quailty piece, I didnt get the name of it, but it showed how all the T.V station's reacted to it.
Does anyone know the name of it?

    Cheers
    Dave

Dave, you might want to visit the internet movie database. This was Oliver Stone's movie JFK.

    DaveH

So long as you realise that's all it was, an entertaining movie, rather than a factual documentary.. (so many holes in it its not funny.. probably put the cause of JFK conspiracy theorists back 20 years)

The programme that DaveH refers to was not the movie JFK but the documentary that was shown immediately before JFK started (the one DMC describes). It was an excellent documentary giving a great insight into what was really the birth of rolling television news (even of it was only for a few days) it also marked the transition from the press to television as a source of the latest news.

BrianD - I meant where he said he had Stone's JFK on DVD and that it was one of his fave movies ;)

Wouldn't this thread be more suited to the Television Forum rather then this one!
