I notice the board doesn't have a mod yet. And as much a I'm "champing at the bit" to discover the mystery that is the mod board, I'm don't have the knowledge of Jazz/Blues required to volunteer as mod.

So if you think you could do a good job modding the board or know someone who would, then make yourself known....

I'll throw my hat in, been playing and listening to blues and jazz for years. On Guitar that is.

I'll leave it to someone else if they feel they can do the job and don't mod anything.

Are there any requirements to being a Mod, I mean do you need a certain post count etc?

No, I've seen people with relatively small post counts becoming mods (Runfree comes to mind), although higher post count and being on friendly terms with the admins/other mods could be an advantage*.

    * This opinion is based on circumstanial evidence based upon observations made by the poster and thus could be completely inaccurate....

Usually a genuine interest and knowledge about the subject is all you need.
It helps if you have been around for a while and know how things work here. You also tend to need to have a good track record here.

Asking to be a mod will usually make it less likely that you become one. And replying to a thread like this stating you want to be mod will probably have little to do with whom they select.

As it's plain to see DMT started this thread in the hope that he'd be picked as mod, even if he doesn't know enough about the subject. ;)

Is becoming a mod a purely nepocratic procedure then?

I don't want to be mod, I don't have the time to be a mod and I couldn't mod my way out of a wet paper bag with the aid of a chainsaw anyway...

Nobody with a sig image like that deserves to mod jazz/blues anyway ;)

I'd offer, but I really only have limited knowledge of the genre in Davis, Coltrane, Brubeck, Gilberto and Garland... twenty or so cds from those artists comprise my meagre jazz amount :)

I'll second Jazz (the person and the style) - he built and ran the Trinity Jazz website when we were in college.

/won an award for it too...but he doesn't like to blow his own trumpet :)
