Is there anyone out there looking for a job in graphic design? You need to have high level skills in both Photoshop & MS PowerPoint & very important that you work well under pressure with the client looking over your shoulder!!

Eh right! That's just wrong is so many ways.
Never in my 7 years designing have i found that(or heard of it) to be a productive situation. Good luck in finding someone and realy dont be surprised when you have i high turnover of staff for the position.
By the fact you ask it i can see you are not a Designer.

    Could you be more patronising?

Much of the work will be on site dealing direct with the client. A pressurised situation which is what the post stated. Believe it or not, some people don't want to sit on their arse in a warm luvvy environment and actually like a challenge.

The client looking over the designer shoulder is unprofessional, unproductive and not good business sense. It shouldn't be required if the job or project is planned and delivered properly. However it is common practise in the graphic industry unfortunately, so its reasonable to put it in the ad - Figment. I'd be interested if it was freelance work only. But its not. But you might want to post this over at http://www.creativeireland.com/ aswell.

Client meetings is one thing, working with the client over your shoulder is a completely different thing. All it does is encourage scope creep. Generally unbilled.

Will do Ricardo. Thanks. I agree having the client looking over your shoulder is not ideal but in some situations (eg on site conference work) there is no avoiding it. I don't want to mislead people who may be interested. If you can't deal with clients (ie have buckets of patience and are able to get the job done in difficult circumstances) and much prefer to sit in a studio all day then this isn't the job for you. The work will be mainly based in a studio in Dublin but there will be national and international travel where you will need to be self sufficient and above all confident in your abilities.

    Hi,

Can you give me an idea of the salary range this position would command.

When you say high powered skills, but don't specify any amout of experience etc, it leaves it wide open.

Are you looking for someone whos just left college, or someone who's got about 8 years experience in creating presentations for managment conferences, and also is the webmaster for a company listed in both ireland and UK stock markets, and also does all the imagery work for the company newsletter, brochures, websites etc.

    X
