New mod blah blah..........

Everyone i talk to seems to agree that the carlowit board has become a farce and no longer contains much usefull or relevant dicussions to us as students in this beloved college of ours. This i have to agree with.
People also seem to think its the mods fault for letting it happen. Bull****. The only reason that the board has gone to **** is because of us!!! Mord did a great job but its got to the stage where he just cant be bothered with everyones **** anymore.
Spam sucks right? Fun for a while but it soon gets VERY ****ing repeditive.
Solutions? How about everyone stops posting total crap? How about we start a thread called Blah and manticore an co. can spam with one word posts to their hearts delight? How about we take more than three seconds to formulate a post?
On the other hand people are gonna have to start some relevant threads. A lot harder than it sounds it seems? Looking back on the threads from last year it seems that the threads were all kinda of useless but there was one major difference which was that people did not post things like

Lets just try to keep it relevant or at least entertaining without lowering it to spam.
So after that rant i would like to finish by asking people to remember how much better boards was last year and that we could have that back again with just a little effort.

its a college board these things are to be expected
you could hardly expect the ppl of the college to suddenly stop doing what they would normaly do elsewhere . they will learn over time . but it is part of the mods responcability to make sure that this is done in a civil mannor .

asking where u r what room ur in etc . will be done never the less but explaining to ppl that pm's are there for a reason and the irc server is up for a reason and possibly showing them how to use it would stop 70% of the spam .

Dunno if ye know yet, but I am also rescinding my mod-ship of this board. I don't have much time online (no net at home) and I can think of better things to do with it than clean up spammy crap here.

it probably wouldn't be the worst idea for the forum to be closed at this stage, nobody sems to have any interest in keeping it open and those who do (mordeth, bicky, ivan, sinnocence etc) are being disrespected by whiney little bitches who haven't got the balls to live in the real world yet, but come on to boards with the ordacity to piss off mordeth who is responsible for the carlowit forum being established and maintained.

it's not a fair deduction that a college board will be spammed, high school dublin and leaving cert a long with the other forums in education have managed to run without this sort of childsplay. i've even came across perfect posts in personal issues made by people who can't get past the word 'spa' in carlow it, is this complete disrepect for carlowit that you can't write proper posts here?

i'm not claiming that farlo & co are the only one's spamming, i've definitely spammed myself and although it may be argued that spamming on any level is unacceptable at least my posts have some point to them. i don't set out to wreck peoples heads or make enemies, farlo please tell me this is your objective because if not you really are a lost case.

not only have you annoyed mordeth who went to a lot of trouble to get us this board, but you start a little war against sinnocence and ivan and even if you have nothing better to be doing i doubt they want to have to put up with your ****. also, remember who you're talking to - if bicky or any of the others implies that you're a muppet and should die, you should tattoo muppet on your face with poisonous ink.

The board isnt modded properly and it should be,
But how can anyone be expected to mod it when their are idiots who continuously post crap again and again either cause they have nothing better to do or just to annoy people,
There's fun and theirs takin the piss out of the board in general.
This board has the potential to be handy and helpfuil to the students and a way of keeping in contact and catching up for past pupils and it would be a shame to loose it,

The new mods are going to have to rule with an iron fist but also hopefully have a sense of humour:)

yeah the mods can delete complete threads if they want to!!
but you lose your thread count from that thread then.
that matters to some people!!
