The thing about this forum is that metal/rock is so diverse that people's definitions of rock vary a bit too greatly. At least, that's my theory anyway.

Don't think I'll be heading to Iron Maiden, AW. Was going to head to Ozzy, but since the little stuttering twat cancelled, thats shafted that then. Next gig will probably be Monster Magnet in january, but watch this space.

Well as someone pointed out, it's the same old threads that keep popping up. I can recall 3 such threads set up about Tool since I joined. One is enough godamnit!

Ithink the root(s) of the problem is
a) Too many pre-pubescent moaney gits.
b) Rock and Metal are NOT the same thing.

As for b...well i dont think rock and metal will ever mix. most (proper) metallers dont like rock and all the rockers dont like most of the metals.

That and AngelWhore has cooties!

In all fairness, there's plenty of people who enjoy both rock and metal, and there's plenty of cross-over going on.

mmmmm..... Maiden...... It's going to be so good...

But on another note, I don't see your point about metal/rock, I quite like both (depending how you define them) as well as classical, and even some jazz, country and the guy upstairs plays some damn-good. It comes down to the fact that there's a lot of very good music in all genres, but very rarely in the mainstream, which is a shame.

And I love rock and I love metal. AC/DC and Iron Maiden are two of my favourite bands of all time. Crossover is GOOD. Stops things getting stale.
