RTE will probably start showing it in February as they did this year, there is some confusion over whether BBC will retain the rights for this season due to their decision to go free to air which FOX who make it are unhappy about, they may go to SKY instead!
ixoy managed to watch the first three episodes using a method which cannot be discussed here. If you want to find out how I suggest you send a private e-mail to ixoy if that is possible?

    Feb seems so far away.

Do they not start before xmas?

Good news for RTE if it goes to Sky, as they will attract those who wait for no adds bbc to show the show.

AFAIK, 24 is a part of BBC's Spring schedule. Or at least it was until the FTA complication.

So maybe we can expect it in February on the Beeb/Sky, maybe about a month earlier on RTE.

Last month I emailed RTE about when they'll show it:
    Hi

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the series '24'
and I am so glad you enjoyed the programme. I have
checked with Scheduling and as yet we do not have the
licence for series 3 but hopefully we shall secure it in
    the near future

    regards

I downloaded the first two episodes of series 3 on BitTorrent. The very end of episode 2 was good, other than that they seemed pretty bland (ie - not many suprises). By no means terrible, just not as good as most of last season's episodes.

The only suprises in the first 2 episodes was finding out what's been happening to the characters since the end of last season.

I didn't download episode 3, partly because of my broadband usage limit (they're ~350MB each), and partly because I'll miss out on looking forward to it every week on RTE next year.

    Hi

I downlaoded bittorrent-3.3.exe, the 1st episode was ok, and took about 8h. to download but hte 2nd an 3rd are much slower and I can see that I upload more than downloads, any sugestions as why?

How long does it take you to download? What's the best why to search for them?

    Using NTL broadband in Win2000.

    Thanks

There's no way to easily make BitTorrent do what you want. Far too many times my upload exceeds my download - you can't change it, it's a bit of the luck-of-the-draw. The ideal time to get something is to check the seed/users downloading ratio. The closer it is to 1:1 - or better - the better time you will have (on average). This applies to all downloading, and not just content of questionable legality.

I thought you were weren't allowed talk about how you go about downloading TV shows on this Forum, I was certainly reprimended for attempting to talk about it a few weeks ago!

I'm not Go Figure! I'm talking about the way BitTorrent works. BitTorrent can be used to download perfectly legal stuff :)

3rd season of 24 not to be on the beeb

    Story

3rd season of 24 not to be on the beeb

Is this a bad sign for RTE getting the rights

I though TV channels sign up for several series rather then just the one. i.e. 3 year contracts.

Fox are a bit upset at the prospect of 24 being seen FTA across Europe in the English language which is what would happen if it was shown on the BBC. Network 2 are encrypted on satellite so they're safe i'd imagine

assuming they want to buy the series of course

I thought Fox were just asking for too much money?

    Prehaps for Satalite Rights.

But Fox weren't too impressed with an english lanuage TV channel out side the Murdock family of Stations broadcasting FTA (via sat) Murdock shows. Now that wouldn't be good at all, at all.

Guess it goes to Sky. Anyone want to bet on it. Anyone?
