Splitting AVI/MPEGs in half?

Hi, I don't have a DVD-R/RW and am looking for a way to get video files up to 1Gb onto CDs, preferably software that can split them into 2 halves. I did a quick Google but as usual nothing really suitable turned up. Any ideas?

Anything to do with .avi Virtualdub is the shiz.... It can parse mpegs as an input but only outputs to .avi so unless you were planning to compress yer mpegs I'd suggest a dedicated mpeg cut/join tool.... http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/encoding_cutjoin.html <---- heaps over here...
