Problem with Sky

I've had sky for the last 2 years or so, I've moved twice and got a new dish each time from sky. The last time I moved(in beginning of August) the dish was set up arseways or something. After a 5-6 weeks I got this screen saying "No signal detected". We got the man from sky to come out and fix it at the beginning of October, this was covered under the warranty of the original installation(90 days).

3 weeks ago the same thing happened again. I rang up and the bloke on the phone said he'd have to get a supervisor to organize the call out as it was over 90 days but it was still the same problem. I heard nothing from them so I rang back last week only to be told that I'd have to fork out for the repairs, even though the original problem wasn't fixed.

Is this the norm for sky?

    Any advice please?

    Daire

Normally if you threaten to cancel things seem to get sorted FOC!!
Let us know how you get on. :):):)

Did you ring up the Sky helpdesk? If so, threaten to cancel next time, telling them that you can't afford to pay for the repair. They should back down and offer to replace it for free.

I was on to sky there and they said they'd send out an engineer for free, but if it was the digi box I would have to pay for its repair. I'll wait and see what happens and keep you posted

in hindsight it would probably have been better if you had cancelled your original subscription and got a new installation, that way they have to do call outs for free for the first year and then you have a spare digibox,I know this doesn't really help you but it might help other people who are moving house.
