Ryanair offers to pay people €1 to fly
    From:ireland.com
    Monday, 17th November, 2003

Ryanair today attempted to increase pressure on its rivals by offering to pay passengers €1 to fly with the airline.

The unusual offer applies to all flights on all routes between November 20th and December 20th and ends on midnight on Thursday.
But this does not mean patrons will earn money by flying with the airline as the €1 will be deducted from the standard airport and government charges.

A round trip from Dublin to London or Dublin to Paris will still cost in the region of €30.

The airline's chief executive, Mr Michael O'Leary, claimed the offer represented the company's costliest ever promotion.

Im not complaining about the sales, cos when it happens they are great value.

But i remember reading just before booking my own flights home that Ryanair were not going to have any more sales till after Christmas. They distinctly said that.

Therefore i booked my flights then and now another sale came along. I wouldnt have booked otherwise..

Did anyone else see this notice?

Wing and a payer: airline hands out €1m
    From:The Irish Independent
    Tuesday, 18th November, 2003

RYANAIR'S high-flying publicity machine soared to new heights last night by offering to pay passengers to fly with the budget airline.

The unique marketing strategy will cost the airline over €1m. It is offering to pay a million passengers flying out of Dublin or Britain, either a euro or a pound. Ryanair will deduct the money from applicable airport taxes and make up the difference itself.

The offer applies to all routes and available flights booked between yesterday and Thursday for travel between November 20 and December 20. Flights must be booked online.

Yep, they did say that. But I'm not gonna moan that they provide great offers!
