Strer century will be showing the "Special" extended versions of the first two films coming up to the release of ROTK.

    Two weeks before - FOTR
    One Week Before - TTT
The Day before (this is the biggie) - a once off back to back showing of the two films ending at midnight the 16th/17th at which point they'll show ROTK

I'm reckoning thats probably an arse numbing eleven hours...

    Those in the know?

Does that mean if you know about it? Or if you know somebody at Ster Century who knows about it?

I remember going into the old Ambassador cinema when Return of the Jedi was released and watching a special showing of the trilogy back to back.It took 7+ hours...we had all overdosed on sugar by the end?(red bull did not exist then) hint bring a cushion as your ass will go numb after 10+hrs of LOTR:-)

They're hardly gonna blow up a dvd to cinema screen size now are they....

I will be in new york city for opening night of ROTK at lowes theatre time square, I hope it will be as good as it was for THE TWO TOWERS last year. :ninja:

They couldn't show it at midnight publicly.

That would get them banned from showing New Line films for life.

The release is probably 2pm December 17th. That's a worldwide release date/time like Matrix Revolutions.

    Sorry to disappoint ye!

Actually they can, New line isn't going to ban Ster century for anything, they're a huge player in the global market.

Besides, If you knew the right people you could have seen Matrix in one of three Dublin cinemas a full week before the "GRD"... & I'm not talking about the press show.

The prints are delivered to the cinema a maximum of a full ten days (absolute minimum four days) before it's "street date".

Graveyard shows have been going on for years here.

Well I wouldn't call them public showings.

Those are meant to be for staff only in general.

Well sure whatever they do they do. We'll see...
