    just after some info lads.

im having trouble getting a p45 (and money, but thats another story) from my last employer. i left them mid september, and am now being told that i wont recieve the money i am due from them till the end of november/ early december. and therefore they cannot issue me with a p45 until this time.this is really starting to mess with my wages/tax from my new job.

now i thought an employer had to issue you with a p45 within a calender month of leaving a job. am i correct here, and is this law or just a rule. is there any website i can look up for info on this.

    cheers

are you on emergency tax? Your previous employer is required to give you your P45 before your last day as far as I know. Witholding it for 2 months is beyong reason in my opinion.

Any employer should be able to sort out your P45 in about 30 minutes, if they say anything else then they could very well be trying to put one over on you or with hold money or whatever.

even if they have to they can calculate all the details by hand and issue it that way.

Try ringing the revenue helpline, 1890 605090, or try www.revenue.ie , with your PPS number and tell them that you've left your last job and that you cannot get a P45,
they should be able to help you out
