I wanna cancel my sub for a period of not less than a year - is there a reconnection fee with sky?

If you have Sky more than a year, no, there is no reconnection fee. But if you have Sky for less than a year, you may run into difficulties, as there is a minimum 12 month contract.

My subscription finally ran out on the 20th - now the people in sky said I should be still able to receive FTA channels which stands to reason but how on earth is this possible with the sky card? or is it? Must I go down the road of procuring a FTA card too? At the moment my sky box is telling me I need to subscribe to even RTE!

PS: Soz if this is covered in a FAQ
