Samba and Cups Problems

    Hello all,

I'm running Cups and Samba on a SUSE Linux 8.2 server with Windows 98, NT and 2000 clients and am experiencing intermittant problems whereby printers on the client PC's are setting themselves to offline when print jobs are sent to them. The few linux clients have no problems, although they connect directly to Cups.

In addition I'm finding it difficult to diagnose the cause of this as it isn't happening consistently in
that we'll have 25 client pc's in a room set to print to the same network printer and only 4 or 5 of them will set the printer to offline while the other 20 will print fine. All the printers are HP 2100, 2200 and 4050's.

I have checked the error log in CUPS at the maximum debug level and there are
none that seem to pertain to the problem, however in the Samba logs though there
are a series of errors stating :-

    ERROR: NULL dest in safe_strcpy

I don't know if this is related to the printer issue but would appreciate any help from people who have had similar problems.

    Many Thanks,

    Ben
