suppose i want to shoot some film of an aerial view of something.
Its for a cd rom im doing!

anyone got any experience of this.

Options as i see it are :
    a) Hire a helicopter and camera person
    b) Buy a remote control airplane/helicopter and fit a camera to it

Got any ideas for me please?

You could try contacting the Corpo, I know they have aerial photography of the entire city somewhere. I know because my dad had a few of the tapes at home from when he was in the Department of the Environment.

You'll probably have to pay for them, but since the only other option is hiring a helicopter it probably won't lose you any money.

Oh, and one other thing. I'd recomend going to colleges if you do end up hiring a camera man. Professional team will cost a whole lot. College will do it for free.

I have done some motion graphics and presentation work for the Corpo. The aerial footage actually belongs to a production company in the city. I cant think of the name at the moment, sorry. But contact the corpo and they should be able to tell you. The production company will licence use of the footage, which may be a cheaper option.

Contact a company called Aerial at weston aerodrome in Kildare. They do aerial photography.

My buddy used a kind of tethered weather balloon for doing this at guinness in dublin, simple, safe, reliable

We do a lot of free (as in no personal fee) TV work that gets tied into our final grade.
