Any chance we could get this stickied? I'm also looking for a drummer. Dundalk area. Must be very good. Double bass drum player a bonus. Aged 17-25.

    Sorry for hijacking.

Drummers are always in short supply - good luck to you finding the perfect drummer. That's why I went to the trouble of getting myself a kit. Now, if only I could find some like-minded (and committed) musicians - I'll dream on.

Well he's jammed with me and one of the lads from the house. As for gigging, I don't think he ever has. His been playing about 6 months I think.

OK, seeing as this has been stickied, any drummers that are looking for a band to play with, post your information in here -

Name, location, experience, possibly kit, things like that.

Thanks for answering FOR me there buddy!

I've done some gigging before, but never as a drummer. I'd be interested in doing some drumming in a band, but only with people who have the same musical taste. That's the reason myself and Feylya don't play together, despite living in the same house.

    Learn some non-Metallica songs motherf*cker!

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Then learn some non gay songs and I might learn them too ****er!

    Eh, no, you're alright.

I think you've just emphasised my earlier point anyway. I don't want to play music like this. Its not my style. I don't like it. I don't enjoy playing it. And what's more, when you aren't extremely proficient at it, it sounds like a load of sh*te. This is exactly the problem we face.

I suggest that when you advertise in any way here, that you clearly state your musical influences, and what kind of music you actually want to play.

    For instance, mine:
    Mansun
    Biffy Clyro
    Muse
    Placebo
    The Smashing Pumpkins
    At The Drive In
    The Mars Volta
    A Perfect Circle
    Tool

I'm just as happy to play original music - I write my own - as long as its in the same style. As was said beofre, I'm in the Dundalk area, but anyone suggesting getting together should at least know all of those bands, and preferably listen regularly to at least half of them. Sorry, but I'm a picky bastard, musically.

    I'll vouch for that!

I don't apologise for it - I know what I like, and I know what kind of music I want to play. Simple as that.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Good for you. Stand up for what you believe in. Hmm, this thread has gone to f*ck.

Anyway, good advice there from Angry. Make sure everyone has similiar musical tastes and know their parts properly.

Jesus christ, why did you dig up a nearly 2 year old thread to post that?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,144 ✭✭✭Parsley

I did a search for "Limerick" and it came up. I didn't check the date. Whoopsie.
