i usually try and get them in the US, but if that's not possible then expansys.com is my next stop

i *never* buy off the street in dublin and usually find myself gasping at the prices on display

yeah, noticed this myself, for example a basic palm zire is €129 in harvey norman, on the palm site its $79 or €68.77... even with p and p its a huge saving!

the thing about that is, what are decent but affordable models? and im guessing compatability is not a problem with US models?

for us models the us adapter can be an issue - i usually need to get a UK adapter afterwards (for some reason the US simetimes only supply 110V - rather than international 100-240V supplies) - you also need to check an international warranty is available

where to find affordable ones? online - been getting them from expansys for a good while now - fast and usually (much) better value than shopping in dublin anyhow - there are other options online - like dabs.com / clove.co.uk / komplett.ie - maybe buy a pda magazine and you'll find a number of different options

if you are wonding what models are good value

pocket pc - dell make decent ones at a pretty amazing price point - but HP have been stepping up to the mark offering a lot more models targeted for different needs/markets

palm - you really only have a choice of Palm or Sony now - again they offer a lot of models targeted for different needs/markets
