This Monday - 10th November at 7:30 pm the GMIT Film Society are screening "Battle Royale" starring Beat Takeshi.

The screening is on in Room 996 of the new extension of the main GMIT Campus on the Dublin Road.

Admission is 1 euro which is dirt cheap.

It's very violent but well worth watching.

A first rate film - It's in Japanese but with subtitles.
Ultra violence with kids is a bit unnerving but hey...

...if you're not doing anything else on monday evening...

didnt like that film one bit, thoguht it was very stupid, and alot of ppl need to be shot 4 and 5 times before they die. go and see it to make up your own mind, but i dont know anyone who has seen it and doesnt like it.

Great film, but I agree with weemcd about the fact that they get shot so many times and still don't die.
I can recall only once when one shot killed.

    off topic bUt.
loads of people get shot in real life many times and dont die..
rappers for e.g. tupac got shot multiple times in the head and didnt die..
    50C ..9 times..
people get limbs blown off in real life and dont die.
and Its only a fim.. no need to nit pick so much. /''/

Eh getting sprayed in the chest by a machine gun will usually kill you.

Yes, Japanese schoolgirls wit guns on an Island fighting to the death.

Undoubtedly the most striking thing in this movie is the lack of realism of somebody dyong when shot:confused:

you are entitled to your onpinions, let me have my own. i find the idea of japanese school kids running around on an island shooting each other is a stupid one. i doubt many of those skinny, nerdy kids could take many bullets.

sorry for any offence, but i was expressing my own opinion

No offence taken, and yes of course you are entitled to your opinion, I just couldn't resist the reply.
