Who owns the land??

    Is there a way of finding out the owner of a piece of land - its a rural area and 'locals' not too sure

    You could try contacting the land registry .
    Not too sure if that's the best place but it's a good place to start!

    Yes, you can.
    You need to look up the land registry for your county.
    You will probably need the name of the townland where the site is situate.

    Ideally have the national grid location of the site. However, I understand their are certain privacy provisions in the Land Acts and not every Joe Bloggs can check. I suspect a direct neighbour would be allowed check.
