    hi,

i'm not sure if i am posting this in the correct area so mods feel free to move etc.Last month i recieved an excessive and very confusing bill from O2.it was crazy as far as i could make out. i was being charged for calls made 3 months ago and not charged for calls made in the last month etc. etc. i was on to customer care daily and eventually was told a cock and bull story about billing periods etc so i just decided to pay and be done with it but to keep an eye on the next bill.

i was looking at my bank statement online a few days after O2 were due to take payment via direct debit but noticed no payment had been taken.thinking they might have revised the bill i phoned up again only to be told that the bank had refused payment! given that the bill was for less that 100 euro and that i had over 1000 euro in my account on the day this made no sense at all.i was asked if i would like to cancel direct debit and pay manually.i agreed to this.i went into the bank straight away and paid with cash via bank giro.when will O2 have this i ask the teller? immediatly he said.i returned home and phoned 02 again.that will take 5 days to reach us sir i'm told.can you fax in a copy of the recipt? i agreed to this and sent the fax straight away.called 02 again an hour later.have you recieved the fax? yes thanks.

next i contacted the bank and requested a printed statemant. i alos asked why the payment had been refused.they said no payment request had been made and had it bounced they would be charging me!

Today i recieved my next bill from O2 with a surcharge of E10.16 + VAT for refused payment.rang O2. thay say its the bank.Rang the bank.they say its O2.I have a printed statement for last month to prove i a)had the funds and then some! and b)no request for payment was made by O2. however i'm caught in the middle and have to pay the piper.

my feeling on this is that O2 screwed up beacause i was hasseling them over the previous bill and never requested payment and are just covering their asses and making a handy 12 euros from me.

Does anyone know what else I can do about this? it seems to be just another rippoff example which is why i posted it here.sorry for the long post but its driving me mad as hell!

    jack.
