Check out page 9 in the business section of todays Irish Independent. There is an article on BB and Flat Rate internet access, and they mention boards.ie as a place to go to look for advice !

Are you online netting the best access deal?

LIKE credit card rates, airline price structures and banking charges, internet rates are sent to try consumers, many of whom wouldn't know an 'adsl' from their elbow and think broadband is something worn with a wedding suit.

With the introduction of residential internet flat rates by the major telecoms players, there is a plethora of new facts and figures to be considered in the average surfer's bid to keep costs down.

In keeping with the rest of the telecoms industry, those facts and figures change faster than you can download the average CD, and form yet another intricate part of the modern communications maze.

In addition, consumers are now being pushed to opt for broadband, the cable modem system which allows you to be online at all times while keeping your phone free for calls.

Telecos claim broadband access is on average ten times faster than standard dial-up. It also offers flat rates but on the downside, you have to ascertain if your home is broadband-enabled before you can sign up.
