Use it in your old box .
You will have four out puts on the quad lnb, so two spares.

There are plenty of options for distributing the signal from the spare digibox via rf to other tvs in the house including the one where the sky plus box will be.

Im sorry to bother ye but...

I know theres loads of info bout this but i'm still not 100% on a couple of things. Maybe someone
    can help with the following:

1:If i say to the free2view people that--
we are moving to ireland (from my contacts adress);)
will they send out any future cards eg in 2/3 years time?
if new ones have to be issued?

2: does the 141 code block your no. from the call centre?

3: if we get sky+ (from our local electrial shop) and move the existing box but dont ask for a mirror sub will they get curious

Cos what i wanna do is.. kicthen:Sky+box ,Irish sub card
(sky Sports so no Sky+ sub)

Sitting room: old box, Free2view card
    (wit ITV & CH4)

    Thanks,
    bf1

Do not mention Ireland under any circumstances .

Your new card will last at least two years and probably a lot longer so best advice is to deal with what happens in two years time or five years then.
Use only your UK address/contact to get the card .
It is self activating once you get it so no further calls are necessary.

    141 will block your number-yes.

Do not mention Ireland at all, they cannot officially send a card here and if you mention that you are going to be here at any point with the card you run the risk of it being switched off.

My best advice to you would be to relax , get the card for now via your college friend and leave it at that.

I and many more reckon that ITV and ch4 will go the BBC way in a few years and you won't need a card for them

Also Sky will probably not change encryption for maybe another 3 or 4 years, it's too expensive.
    So you can relax.

Forget about what's going to happen in two (or more) years time. In that time ITV will probably/possibly go FTA and you can't see into the future. Sort yourself out for now.

That's about the timeframe it took me when I got mine. The postal strike in the UK is only just over so there may be some delays though.
