New SKY installation 2 boxs

Ok well my parents have been building a house for an age now but its nearly there. Anyway we have had sky in our hold house for nearly 10 years we moved to rented accomadation for the last year and we bought the Sky with us.

The Idea was we would get a new installation in the mothers name with the new address when we move. However the mother now wants a second box so she can watch her **** while myself and the auld chap watch the soccer (on my projector:) ).

So my idea was we would get a new installation of Sky Plus and get a second mirror subsciption for the old box which we have.

But I was talking to a guy who installs the systems and he says the old box wouldn't work becase of the chassey number being to a different subscription. He reckoned we could get a Sky Plus box plus a second ordinary new box including a new dish for about €400.

But will that not require 3 LNB's, 2 for Sky+ and another for the mirror subscription??? Is that possible with 1 dish??

    I'm really confused here.

i dont think the previous existence of the old box will make a bit of difference

look at it from skys point of view:
present situation is they earn 0 from that box, where as they could earn €26 off it (is that the price of the mirror sub??)

you dont even have to get sky+, you can still get a mirror sub with a normal sky sub. this has the advantage of being installaed for €15-€25 + a quad lnb + some cable to connect 2nd box

Sky+ comes with a quad LNB. That allows you to run Sky+ and two regular digiboxes from the one dish. As the Sky+ box is not subsidised you can get it in the name of the existing sky account holder. It is €299. You should have no problem getting a mirror sub for the old box, but they will both have to be connected to the same telephone line so I hope that your parents got the house wired up well.

They install a Quad LNB when installing Sky+ so one dish could serve a Sky+ box and 2 other boxes at the same time.

SO... the cheapest option would be to get the Sky+ with the quad LNB and upgrade the excisting the account. But I'l need to get it installed in the new house as I haven't a signal meter.

Would I be better off just getting a new account with the free normal box because we'd be getting the world package and pay for the Sky+ box.??

I reckon the free box and dish + sky + is the cheapest way to do this.
