I think there are a lot of copyright & legal issues that need to be sorted out before the store will be open on this side of the world. So in other words, not anytime soon.

The article mentioned looks like it was written by a 15 year old

also the article says that apple and the record industry make money from it, but the register yesterday Said they dont. Actually. its jobs who said it, they just quoted him. damn RIAA!

apple do make money from the service, its 99c a song i think. they just dont make a whole lot. pepsi are doing a promotion that every bottle of pepsi you buy you get a code and a free song. dont know if they're doin it here though.

yea, its 99c per song, but most goes to the RIAA, the rest to the Credit card companies. read the article. its says it in it. i was quite shocked about it. and of the money the RIAA get, not a lot goes to the artists. its a bit annoying. like i listen to a load of music, and the bands work hard, why the hell should i be paying for some record industry exec's new car? shouldent the artist get more?

but on the plus side, a mac rumers website says that may 2004 is when itunes music store comes to europe. i think this will be a welcome thing, especially by me. i hate downloading music from kazaa to find its crap quality, or has the first 20 seconds and then noise. or the first 20 seconds over and over.

I do like the idea that it's possible (not probable) that the musicians might realise that if they deal directly, then they would get the full 99c (heck 90% of 50c beats 100% of 5c) as opposed to the fraction the record companies give them..

Get rid of the middle men...

well, yea. i think itunes offer indy bands and record lables an option. it would make more sence.
